and the score was tied at 20 a minute into the second. But the 


U.S. defense clamped down defensively at that point, holding 


Venezuela to just two points on a nine-possession stretch that 


created some separation. The Americans then scored 22 points on 


their final 10 possessions of the half to complete a 30-8 second 


quarter and take a 48-26 lead into the half.
